| stereo receivers vs. integrated amps? | I was admiring your set-up and wondering what your opinion is concering stereo receivers vs. integrated amps and High Current Stereo Receivers? I am in the process of upgrading from a Yamaha RX-396 stereo receiver and JBL D-38 speakers/Mission 700series bookshelf speakers to a pair of floorstanding speakers(maybe KEF iQ5 or Q4 or Wharfdale Diamond 9.4) and Harmon Kardon HK3485 High Current Stereo Reciever or Cambridge Audio Azur 640A Integrated Amp or Yamaha RX-497 Stereo Receiver. They will be in a 400sq/ft living/dining space with two couches and bookshelf and wall hangings and coffee table and dining table...just thought I'd ask.
Thanks, Chris | Posted by NYC3267 (12.02.08, 19:36)

| RE: | | Thank you for your comment. As for your question, the KEF iQ5 is a exellent speaker, as for amps i belive the Cambridge is a better allrounder, where the H/K sounds really nice on rock and heavy metal. When it comes to the room you are using them in you will have to test out various placement to get the optimal sound, you might benefit from a subwoofer if the room gets too big. | Posted by eyvind (13.02.08, 02:32)
