Noble Studio
Concept
This room was designed as a high-end cinema as well as a high-end listening room. This solution is both space and cost efficient.
Layout
The room is 6 by 5 meters and has declining ceiling towards sides.
The construction work started by demolishing all carpets, walls and ceiling. Next step was to re-insulate and plaster the walls and ceiling (double thickness plates glued together)
1100 meters of wooden lists are fixed to the ceiling. This solution provides additional sound deflection. Walls are covered with light blue wallpaper. Wooden flooring is glued directly to the flooring plates.
Technical solutions
Alt electrical cables are hidden in walls, flooring or behind double walls. This is valid both for AC and instrument cables.
The room is fitted with a remotely controlled Daikin air to air heat exchanger. This provides adequate cooling and heat for any warm summer day or cold winter day even with all equipment running.
3 separate 16A courses feeds AC current through PS Audio power filters. A remotely controlled Lutron panel is managing the lights. The system have 8 programmable setting define lighting level and time delay and are controlling 20 spot lights and 3 curtains.
The exhaust air from the projector is routed through a channel to a temperature controlled fan in the ceiling. This reduces both noise and heat in the room.
Power filters, curtain control, PC, amplifier for tactiles, LD, media-center, satellite tuner, IR emitter/transmitter, network router, hub, ariel amplifiers and other electrical equipment are located in the adjacent small rooms. These rooms are vented by temperature controlled. PC is powered by UPS to prevent any damage in case of power failure.
An electrical driven screen is hidden in the ceiling and controlled by the surround processor.
Furniture
The leather seats are delivered by Ekornes and have adjustable integrated headrests. Clark tactiles with separate volume controls are installed in the front of the seats.
Shelves and cupboards are delivered by IKEA. The rack is my own design and made by solid 30 mm stone separated by Ø100mm aluminium pipes. The total weight exceeds 700 kg. Black drapes are mounted into the top plate to cover disturbing lights during video sessions.
Tuning/tweaking
All video sources are routed through the Crystalio scaler for easy optimisation. SDI signal from the modified Primare DVD reduces up and down converting. The Crystalio scales all signals before feeding the CRT. The Barco is adjusted and colour calibrated by Bjørn Hegelstad. Lip sync is controlled by the Parasound C1 processor.
A balanced Bryston crossover enables biamping of the main speakers. Bass is crossed over at 60 Hz. The sound level and delay are measured supplied Parasound microphone and adjusted by the Parasound processor. The Velodyne has also an auto calibration feature.
All components are placed on Base platforms except for the speakers which are placed on spikes.
Security
The house is protected by a sophsticated alarm system. Access to room is controlled by a fingerprint scanner.

| Hehe... | Posted by JimmyGK (18.11.06, 22:18)

| Men,,, | | ... først nå så jeg at det kun er 32 medlemmer her. Siden har vel ikke samme status her som i Norge.. Men likevel..! | Posted by JimmyGK (18.11.06, 22:25)

| Magnifico! | Absolutely a perfect home theatre..
And the fingerprint scanner is tops it all!:)
The only bad thing that I could come up with is,if the fingerscanner suddenly didn´t recognize your finger print!:)
Being locked out from your own cinema-kinda boring i´d belive!:) | Posted by esbens (25.01.07, 14:49)
